The Way it was - Simeon

Victory News – December 2, 2016

Hi Victory Family,

Is your tree up?  Shopping started? I hope you are having a great week preparing for Christ’s coming. Last week we began a sermon series entitled “The Way It Was.” We looked at this amazing Unmistakable Sign that God is with us.  Pastor Ben is going to show us the good news of Jesus through the prophet Zechariah so that we can see that God has not forgotten you (even when it feels like it)! It is going to be great! I hope to see you here. Feel free to invite family and friends to join us in preparing for Christmas this Sunday!

Christian Art Naomi Scheel is a fantastic Christian Artist. She is going to have some of her art work on display and for sale in the lobby this coming Sunday and next (December 4 and 11). This will be an opportunity for you and me to order some beautiful Christian art for Christmas. Naomi is also going to support the Poulos family with a portion of her proceeds.

Victory Kids Christmas Service The Victory Kids Christmas service is December 18 at 10:45 am. Join us as over 50 of God’s Victory Kids share the Christmas message with us! Important Note: There will be no Victory Kids at the 9:00 am service on December 18.

Friends of Jesus – Christmas Toy Drive – We are partnering with an organization called “Friends of Jesus” to provide toys to needy children in the Milwaukee area. New, wrapped toys can be dropped off in the decorated bin in the lobby up until Sunday, Dec 11. You can go the Toy Needs List online to choose the age child you would like to purchase a gift for. You can also go to the Welcome area at the Ministry Center to pick up a gold information sheet with specific details. Contact Nancy Thompson with questions.

Operation Jesus Cares Once again this year we will partner with Christ, St Peter Lutheran Church to share the love of Jesus with families in the Christ, St Peter neighborhood. Operation Jesus Cares  is set for December 21, from 8 am until about noon. If you can assist in handing out the care packages there is a sign up sheet in the lobby by the welcome area. We have $2,100 of $2,400 needed. Please consider giving a gift to the Operation Jesus Cares fund to help us raise the final $300 needed. There are OJC envelopes in the boxes or you give online or through any envelope marked OJC. For additional information you may contact Ryan Solie.

Christmas at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Join the Seminary Chorus on December 11 at 3 pm or  7 pm., for Christmas at the Seminary. The men’s choir will share the story of Jesus’ birth in songs, carols, and hymns. Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary is located in Mequon at 11831 N. Seminary Dr. The concert is held in the campus auditorium, and seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. The 3 pm concert will be lived streamed at: http://livestream.com/WLSLive.
