Victory News – June 23, 2017 – Big Problems Bigger God!

Dear friends, Last night the storms came through. I think for most of us that meant lightening, thunder and downpours of rain.  For some in the South, however, those storms meant not only lightening, thunder and rain but also destructive tornadoes and the loss of property and possessions. Sometimes in life, we encounter Big Problems. This weekend, as we continue our series “Prayer is Powerful,” our mission partner from St. Lucia, Pastor Bramdeo Ramgolam, is going to dive deep into…

Happy Birthday Church!

Dear Friends, Happy Birthday!! It is time to celebrate at Victory! This Sunday is what many people call the birthday of the Christian Church, or Pentecost.  Pentecost is when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples who were still in hiding after Jesus crucifixion. The Holy Spirit empowered these timid believers to go out into all the world and proclaim the good news. After Peter’s Pentecost message about 3,000 people came to faith!! This weekend Pastor Ben is…

Memorial Day Weekend 2017

Dear Friends, Upside down. Sometimes I consider upside down to be good – like in a pineapple upside down cake. Most of the time I don’t consider upside down to be a good thing. Upside down is another way for me to say that things are out of my control. Last week as we began our new series “Ordinary People Extraordinary God” we learned through Gideon that even when things seem upside down, or out of control, or when fear…

A Life Worth Living

Hi Friends, This weekend I’m planning on cleaning our garage. I wonder what I will find. As many of us begin to do spring cleaning, we are finding out that we have things we didn’t realize that we had. Last weekend our senior assistant, Peter Schlicht, let us in on a truth that we sometimes forget. We are not empty but we are full because we are in Christ who lavishes his grace on us! Here is his message in…

Anything but Empty – We are Blessed!

Dear Friends, Spring in Wisconsin is a season of changing conditions. The weather starts to warm up and the flowers start to bloom and then boom . . . the temperature drops. What great news that God never changes.  He is always with us and he is keeping for us “an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.” So if you find yourself in the tumult of change keep your eyes and heart on the constant of God. ICYMI…

Victory News – March 31, 2017

Hi Friends, Growing up I couldn’t wait to be parent. Parenting was easy, I thought. All you did was say, “yes” or “no,” and mostly “no” and that was all there was to parenting. “No” isn’t always the right answer but sometimes it is way better than “yes.” Check out last weekend’s message and see when “no” is way better than we deserve. Sin brings so much grief into our lives. The most powerful example is death which steals our…

Victory News – Third Week of March 2017

Hi Friends, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! True or false: St. Patrick was Irish. The answer is: False. He was British. St. Patrick was taken captive around the age of 16 by pirates who brought him to Ireland. He would later escape Ireland only to return again and make it his life’s work to convert the wild Celts to Christianity. Patrick saw that their deepest need was Jesus! Speaking of deepest needs. Check out Pastor Ben’s message from last week. And…

Victory News – 2nd Week of March 2017

Hi Friends! I hope and pray you had a great week and are looking forward to worship this coming weekend! Last weekend we began a news series Like Us in Every Way with a message on temptation.  You can see it here. This Sunday Pastor Ben is going to bring us an unforgettable message of God’s grace as he reintroduces Jesus to us as the one who carries our deepest need.  FYI – You won’t want to miss this. P.S.…

Victory News – Third Week of February

Dear Friends, God is amazing with his grace.  We are not even good and yet God took away all our sin. This is not fake news, this is GREAT news! In Jesus, grace and truth are perfectly fused. ICYMI – check out my message from last week based on Jesus’ words, “Do not judge.” This Sunday at Victory of the Lamb we are continuing our series What Jesus Said as Pastor Ben leads us to come to Jesus as we…

Victory News – “What Jesus Said”

Hi Friends, It is Super Bowl weekend! The pundits and the experts are telling us who is going to win. ESPN’s staff of writers, editors, analysts, columnists and pundits have made their predictions for the game. The tally: 44 picks for the Patriots and 23 for the Falcons. Whose word can you trust? This weekend Pastor Ben is going to launch us into a new series, “What Jesus Said.” Jesus words are accurate and true. He was not speculating. He…

Victory News – January 4, 2017

Have you ever had one of those epiphany moments when something just clicked? Maybe you were experiencing angst over some decision or you didn’t know how to solve a problem. And then, just like that, it all became clear. Suddenly, you wonder why you didn’t see it earlier. The world we live in has some pretty serious issues with God and the Bible. There are things he does that just don’t seem to make sense. It’s like, in some ways,…
The Way it was - Simeon

Victory News – December 2, 2016

Hi Victory Family, Is your tree up?  Shopping started? I hope you are having a great week preparing for Christ’s coming. Last week we began a sermon series entitled “The Way It Was.” We looked at this amazing Unmistakable Sign that God is with us.  Pastor Ben is going to show us the good news of Jesus through the prophet Zechariah so that we can see that God has not forgotten you (even when it feels like it)! It is…
