Victory News – February 23, 2018

Dear friends, We live in a love-hungry world. Countless people, young and old alike, are suffering spiritually, mentally and emotionally, some even physically, because “nobody cares.” A lot of times you can tell people are lacking love because they lash out and hurt other people. Hurting people hurt other people. Many people at our schools, our jobs, our neighborhood, sitting beside us at games, movies and concerts, perhaps in the chair right by us at worship are just waiting and…

Hi Friends, We are beginning a new sermon series this weekend “Crazy Love.” In this series we will see the “crazy” things that Christ did in his love for us! And see what “crazy” things his love motivates us to do as well. “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.…

Ash Wednesday

Pastor Bill

Victory News – February 9, 2018

Dear Friends, All good things must come to an end. When you are on vacation, hopefully having a blast, you have this inkling that all good things must come to an end. Last Sunday the Philadelphia Eagles won the Superbowl.  As we know, most teams don’t repeat as champions – all good things must come to an end. I bet you have heard that before, said it before and lived it before. This weekend we will be celebrating God’s ministry…

Victory News January 26, 2018

Dear friends, Have you ever had one of those days? I had one of those this past week. I went for a run and fell on the ice. I entered my phone number incorrectly to set up a program on my phone. I mean really, who does that? Well, apparently I do that. ☹ And just for fun, I picked up a screw in the sidewall of one of my new tire’s, so I got to buy another new tire.…

Victory News – January 19, 2018

Dear friends, Frozen in time. This past week the South received a heavy dose of snow and cold. Schools were closed. Flights were cancelled. Businesses were closed. Roads were shut down. They were at a standstill. Do you sometimes feel your life is at a standstill? I want to encourage you that when you feel life is going nowhere, you are right where God wants you to be. You may be at a standstill because someone else needs to catch…

Victory News – Jan 12, 2018

Dear friends, In a current Ancestry.com commercial a man thinks he has a German heritage. But after connecting with Ancestry.com he finds out that he is not German at all! He is mostly Scottish and Irish. Satan and our world try to confuse us about our identity too. Do these questions sound familiar: Have you made it? Are you good enough? Does your life really have any value? Way too many of us feel that we don’t measure up. But…

Celebrating God’s Generosity

Dear friends, How does your house look? Wrapping paper anywhere? Cookie crumbs decorating your counter-top or even your couch? Pine needles, real or fake, sticking up out of the carpet or like sprinkles on your floor? New toys and new gadgets, here, there, and everywhere? Garbage overflowing? Sink and dishwasher full of dishes? Maybe that is the way your house looks or maybe it’s sparkling clean! Jesus has come into our messy, dirty world and more specifically into our messy,…

What the World Needs Now

Dear friends, Just over three weeks to Christmas! Yay God! What is your favorite Christmas carol or song? My favorite Christmas song changes all the time. I like “Noel,” by Lauren Daigle. But today, and it might change by tomorrow, my favorite is: “Hark! The Herald Angels Sings,” by Carrie Underwood. I will share a not so well kept secret about myself. I love Christmas music. I’m not to worried about whether it is Thanksgiving or even November yet, any…

Victory News – #BecauseofJesus

Dear Friends, Isn’t God amazing! His generosity knows no bounds. King David said in Psalm 23 the same thing that most of us can say when we look inside our refrigerators and cupboards, “my cups overflows.” Isn’t God amazing! The generosity of his grace and mercy knows no bounds. The book of Isaiah shares this truth about God and our relationship with God, “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they…

Victory News – Shrewd Generosity

Dear Friends, The artwork was first commissioned by Louis XII of France and later owned by Charles I of England. But the “Salvador Mundi” had disappeared and was presumed lost in the late 18th Century. The DaVinci masterpiece reappeared in an auction in 1958. The painting was deemed a copy and sold for just under $60. The “Salvador Mundi” was acquired by a group of art dealers for around $10,000 in 2005. Turning $60 into $10,000 is pretty shrewd, wouldn’t…
