In the Beginning: From Creation to Christ
Storyteller Daniel Dexter will be visiting Victory of the Lamb and make the Bible come alive with his unique ‘Scripture storytelling’ style. He memorizes books of the Bible and then shares them word-for-word using a storytelling approach.
Daniel states: “A common encouragement I hear is that this storytelling makes the Bible come alive. But what I love about Scripture storytelling, and the reason it’s so powerful to me also as I share it, is that God’s Word is alive, active and dynamic with God’s presence and power; I’m just putting that character of God’s Word on display in proclamation.”
On Sunday, April 24th, Daniel will share a portion of Genesis with the theme: In The Beginning: From Creation to Christ. From creation to the fall into sin to the great flood to God’s covenant with Abraham, Daniel weaves New Testament verses into the Genesis account to demonstrate that Christ truly is at the heart of Scripture, even from the very beginning. The storytelling will begin at 6:30 P.M. and will last about an hour with refreshments to follow. Invite friends and come and hear God’s Word!
About Daniel Dexter
Daniel serves as a part-time Staff Minister at Christ Our Redeemer in El Paso, TX. In 2005, Daniel was captivated by the Scripture storytelling of a man named Max McLean. “When I saw McLean share the Gospel of Mark,” Daniel recalls, “I was drawn into the Gospel and I saw the story of salvation more clearly than ever.” Excited by what he saw, Daniel applied himself to memorizing the Gospel of John.
In 2006, he shared the word-for-word Gospel of John with a small group at his church. It was well-received, and he has been sharing God’s Word in this way ever since. He now shares The Gospel of John (available on DVD), The Gospel of Luke, Genesis, Philippians, Colossians, Jonah, Habakkuk, and other sections of Scripture in churches, schools, conferences, and special gatherings throughout the WELS/ELS fellowship.
