The Community of Wisdom

The Proverbs emphasize the importance of a wise community. Although true wisdom comes from God and his Word, it takes a community of believers to discover and apply it. We can’t understand God’s Word all on our own. We need Christian teachers and advisers and mentors who will help us discern what’s best. We will follow the crowd, so we need to choose wisely which crowd to follow. Sermon Text: Proverbs 2:20-22

The Pursuit of Wisdom

The Proverbs describe wisdom as an endless journey and a pursuit. We are to cry out for wisdom. James says we should be praying for wisdom and God will give it. Every new stage in life, every new challenge calls for us to pursue fresh wisdom from God. Using God’s wisdom to guide our decisions doesn’t guarantee smooth sailing for our lives, but it does give us peace as we rely on God’s will for our lives. Sermon Text: Proverbs 2:1-11
