Live Like No One Else

Live Like No One Else

the big idea:
Dave Ramsey is a financial guy. He writes books and does a radio show. His primary purpose is to help people transform their financial situation. He wants to help people go from being in financial crisis, to being financially healthy.

He reminds people over and over again: if you choose to live like no one else now, you will be able live like no one else in the future. In other words if you make the financial choices (perhaps even sacrifices) that most people are not willing to make now, in the future you will be able to enjoy the benefits that no one else does.

Dave Ramsey’s axiom is not really his own (and we believe he would freely admit that). It’s an expression of the spiritual reality that Jesus and the rest of the Scriptures teach us over and over again. Although we are in the world, we are not of the world. God has given us a higher vision and different priorities.

In this series we will explore this truth of this axiom as we look at how the gospel of Jesus Christ changed the attitudes and the priorities of the Christians in Corinth. They lived like no one else and discovered that they were blessed like no one else!

“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God” (2 Corinthians 8:11).

A Full Life

The Christians in Corinth learned that a truly full life is when we have made someone else a little richer. 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

A Disciplined Life

It’s not enough just to want to do the right thing, we need to have a plan and accountability that will help us follow through. 2 Corinthians 8

A Radical Life

Jesus lived radically. How did the Christians in Corinth live Jesus’ radical love in their lives? More importantly, how can we? 2 Corinthians 8:1-8
