Jesus: The Embodiment of Wisdom

Proverbs 8 personifies wisdom. It speaks of wisdom being the person who created the world. John 1 picks up on this idea, describing Jesus as the Word made flesh. Paul calls Jesus “the wisdom of God.” God’s greatest revelation of wisdom is in the Gospel. It seems foolish to us at first. The Community of Wisdom

The Proverbs emphasize the importance of a wise community. Although true wisdom comes from God and his Word, it takes a community of believers to discover and apply it. We will follow the crowd, so we need to choose wisely which crowd to follow. Sermon Text: Proverbs 2:20-22

Using God’s wisdom to guide our decisions doesn’t guarantee smooth sailing for our lives, but it does give us peace as we rely on God’s will for our lives. Sermon Text: Proverbs 2:1-11

But true wisdom stands the test of time. We see this theme throughout Scripture, starting with the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve had a choice: either they could trust God’s view of good and bad, or they…
