Jesus the King (Palm Sunday)

On the day we now know as Palm Sunday, the people of Jerusalem celebrated Jesus as their king. They waved palm branches in the air, laid down their cloaks for him, and shouted “Hosanna!” But he didn’t ride in on a white horse. He wasn’t followed by an army, and he wasn’t adorned with gold and jewels. He is a gentle and humble King, who is exactly who we need. Sermon Text: Matthew 21:1-11

Lead with Humility

Wisdom and knowledge are often confused. Knowledge is readily available and just a click away. Wisdom, however, is knowing how to use that knowledge and recognizing the source behind it. Leaders need to know how to remain humble and lead with wisdom. God teaches us in his Word to use the wisdom of Heaven to humble ourselves and recognize our need for Jesus. Sermon Text: James 3:13-18

Listen to Learn

In our culture, we’re taught to speak our minds, and those who speak loudest and often are heard. But God has a different view. God’s Word teaches us how powerful our words can be. Instead of speaking everything that comes to mind, Christians are encouraged to “tame our tongues” and listen first. We can use our tongues to change the direction of people’s lives by sharing Jesus with them. Sermon Text: James 3:1-12

Living Our Faith

We do not have to do anything to earn God’s grace. But that doesn’t mean we don’t do good in the world around us. God teaches us that “faith without deeds is dead”. In other words, God wants us to serve and care for others as a reflection of His love in our communities.
