The Born Leader – Peter

The Born Leader – Peter

We think we’re so strong. Yet, when put to the test, how often we come up falling short! When we come up short, however, may God give us the strength to be more like Peter than Judas.

Scriptures: First Lesson: Judges 16:23-20; Second Lesson: 1 Peter 4:12-19

Sermon Text: Mark 14:27-31; 69-72; John 21:17

My Next Steps

Question to Ponder: How easy it is to fall into temptation and sin! Peter, one of Jesus’ closest disciples, only a few hours after he pledged never to fall away from Jesus, denied three times that he even knew his Savior. The devil tries his very hardest to rip Christians away from their Savior.

Treasure to Share: The third time he (Jesus) said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.” (John 21:17)

Action to Take: Be constantly wary of the devil and his never-ending efforts to lead you to deny your Savior by your words and actions. When you fall into temptation, remember your Savior’s actions for you. Do not despair! He has forgiven your sins. Rejoice in your Savior and his forgiveness!
