“I Have No Power”

“I Have No Power”

“I Have No Power”

When a person feels they have no power or control, fear and hopelessness rob them of any desire to change their situation. At these times God is our strength and deliverer.

Scriptures: First Lesson: Isaiah 9:6-7; Second Lesson: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10; Gospel Lesson: Luke 18:1-8

Sermon Text: Philippians 4:10-13

My Next Steps

Thought to Ponder: God’s Word has the power to bring us peace in the midst of feeling powerless. Where do you typically look for strength?

Treasure to Share: “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)

Action to Take: Do you know someone who’s feeling weak or powerless? Reach out to them this week to listen to them talk about their life situation. Then remind them in person, with a hand-written note or card, or through social media how Christ emptied himself to fill them up!

Encourage them by sharing the message of Philippians 4:13 or by linking them to our website and encouraging them to listen to today’s sermon themselves. Christ’s strength makes us ‘up for whatever’!
