When things are bad, we can’t help but long for better days. Just a word of promise, a glimpse of hope, can revive our sinking souls and fill us with a longing to see that promise fulfilled. This is how it is for God’s people as we live in this world.

My Next Steps

Question to Ponder: What are the sneaky temptations in your life? How does the forgiveness that comes from Jesus allow you to address those sins head-on?

Treasure to Share: “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy” (Proverbs 28:13).

Action to Take: What sin are you letting fester in your life? Confess it to God, but then confess it to a brother or sister in Christ. Bring sin into the open and it will not be able to stand the light.
