There are so many religious people out there who spend their lives sincerely working out their own way to God. What about them? Does there have to be only one way to heaven?
Sermon Text: John 14:1-6
My Next Steps
Connect: There are approximately 1 billion Muslims, over 650 million Hindus, over 300 million Buddhists, over 200 million followers of Chinese folk religion, in addition to the world’s 1.6 billion nominal Christians. These are not just statistics. They represent real people; people who are born, live, and die every day firmly believing that their religion teaches the truth.
Aha: Despite the statistics, there are only two religions. One makes us responsible for making things right with God; the other affirms that God has made all things right through Jesus. The former makes any realistic hope of heaven impossible. The latter opens heaven to everyone.
Treasure: Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Challenge: Come up with and commit to memory 3-4 constructive responses to people who ask: Don’t all paths lead to God?
