The People Confess
The need to confess sin is the result of honesty about who God is and who we are. When we remember God’s perfections and power, we recognize the wickedness of our sin and seek salvation only through the mercy of God in Jesus Christ.
Scripture: Psalm 32
Sermon Text: Nehemiah 9
My Next Steps
Points to Ponder: Your right to pray to God isn’t based on what you have or haven’t done up to this point but based on what Jesus perfectly did for you.
Treasure to Share: But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them… (Nehemiah 9:17-18).
Action to Take: Confession truly is good for the soul. To confess your sins is part of what it means to be properly prepared to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion. Read through page 15 today in the worship folder during the offering as your own personal preparation before receiving Communion.
