Victory News – April 27, 2018

Pastor’s Message Hi Friends, Numbers of hope: This is the time of year when students start to figure out what they needed to score on their semester tests to get their desired grade. That score is a number of hope. Numbers of hope: If you are a golfer, you hope for a hole in one – the likelihood of an amateur golfer hitting a hole in one is 1 in 12.5K. Numbers of hope:  In Scripture, 0 and 100 are…

Victory News – Chris Driesbach Concert and More!

Dear friends, Pig races, food, food on a stick, the main stage, 30 free stages for entertainment, flavored milk, cream puffs, the midway, expo center, farm animals, crafts, blue ribbons, Alice in Dairyland, people of all ages – these are all things you find at the Wisconsin State Fair. Forgiving the unforgivable, mercy, loving the unlovable, grace, selflessness, servant leadership, grace, mercy, truth in trial, patience, compassion, power, healing, conquering sin, death and Satan, – these are all blessings that…

God is Powerful in Your Story

Dear friends, My fourth grade teacher teacher would read to us over lunch time.  One of the stories she read was Old Yeller.  I don’t know if you have ever even heard of Old Yeller but it is a story of love and loss.  In the story, a yellow rugged looking dog comes for an uninvited stay with a young boy named Travis and his family. Travis reluctantly adopts the dog. Though Travis initially loathes the “rascal” and at first…

Victory News July 7, 2017

Dear Friends, Here are a few things that happened at Victory since Pastor Ben wrote Victory News last Friday – in no particular order and there were a lot more – because God is like that!  1. Branches Band and Pastor Ben led us in worship.  You can review, see for the first time, or share his message here. 2. Two children were adopted by God through baptism (yay Aria and Jared!).  3. Some of our teens and leaders decorated…

Victory News – June 23, 2017 – Big Problems Bigger God!

Dear friends, Last night the storms came through. I think for most of us that meant lightening, thunder and downpours of rain.  For some in the South, however, those storms meant not only lightening, thunder and rain but also destructive tornadoes and the loss of property and possessions. Sometimes in life, we encounter Big Problems. This weekend, as we continue our series “Prayer is Powerful,” our mission partner from St. Lucia, Pastor Bramdeo Ramgolam, is going to dive deep into…

Happy Birthday Church!

Dear Friends, Happy Birthday!! It is time to celebrate at Victory! This Sunday is what many people call the birthday of the Christian Church, or Pentecost.  Pentecost is when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples who were still in hiding after Jesus crucifixion. The Holy Spirit empowered these timid believers to go out into all the world and proclaim the good news. After Peter’s Pentecost message about 3,000 people came to faith!! This weekend Pastor Ben is…

Memorial Day Weekend 2017

Dear Friends, Upside down. Sometimes I consider upside down to be good – like in a pineapple upside down cake. Most of the time I don’t consider upside down to be a good thing. Upside down is another way for me to say that things are out of my control. Last week as we began our new series “Ordinary People Extraordinary God” we learned through Gideon that even when things seem upside down, or out of control, or when fear…

A Life Worth Living

Hi Friends, This weekend I’m planning on cleaning our garage. I wonder what I will find. As many of us begin to do spring cleaning, we are finding out that we have things we didn’t realize that we had. Last weekend our senior assistant, Peter Schlicht, let us in on a truth that we sometimes forget. We are not empty but we are full because we are in Christ who lavishes his grace on us! Here is his message in…

Anything but Empty – We are Blessed!

Dear Friends, Spring in Wisconsin is a season of changing conditions. The weather starts to warm up and the flowers start to bloom and then boom . . . the temperature drops. What great news that God never changes.  He is always with us and he is keeping for us “an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.” So if you find yourself in the tumult of change keep your eyes and heart on the constant of God. ICYMI…
