Ten Years of Victory!

Ten Years of Victory!

Easter for Kids 2016

Dear Friends,

Ten years ago. A decade! On Palm Sunday in 2007, our brand new church, Victory of the Lamb, held our first Grand Opening service at the Polonia Soccer Club which we rented on Sunday mornings. It was a one room building that could fit just over one-hundred people. This was our introduction to the community and the first major effort we made to share Christ’s victory with our neighbors. None of us knew then what God had in store for us as a church.

Since that day, God has blessed us with a growing church family! We outgrew the Polonia Soccer Club in three years. We passed through Showtime Cinema in the course of six. We’ve begun to make an even bigger impact now that we’ve been in a permanent facility of our own just over a year. So after ten years as an outwardly focused church, our same mission continues….to share Christ’s victory with today’s people, loving them enough to meet them where they are at.

Our 1st “Grand Opening” in 2007 at Polonia

That’s because about two-thousand years ago Jesus met us where we were at…in our sins. On the first Palm Sunday Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey on his way to the cross to pay for the sins of the world just a couple days later. The Lamb went uncomplaining forth as a sacrifice for us all. There at the cross he showed us what true love is. There he paid the debt of our sins in full. And after Easter…nothing would ever be the same again! We would have an eternally significant victory to celebrate…and to share!

So join me this coming Palm Sunday, ten years after our first Palm Sunday worship service together, as we continue our series Like Us In Every Way and begin our Holy Week worship that culminates in a big Easter celebration next Sunday!

(In case you missed it, watch or read Pastor Bill’s comforting sermon from last Sunday about how Jesus is just like us. He wept at the death of a dear friend. But at the same time Jesus is not like because he is the resurrection and the life. And because of this, The End is not the End!)
