Victory News – 2nd Week of March 2017

Hi Friends!

I hope and pray you had a great week and are looking forward to worship this coming weekend! Last weekend we began a news series Like Us in Every Way with a message on temptation.  You can see it here. This Sunday Pastor Ben is going to bring us an unforgettable message of God’s grace as he reintroduces Jesus to us as the one who carries our deepest need.  FYI – You won’t want to miss this. P.S. This will be a great weekend to bring family and friends.

Pastor Ben – This past Sunday Pastor Ben received a Call to serve as an associate pastor at St. John’s, in Two Rivers, WI. Please keep Pastor Ben, Sarah, Lydia, Sophie, and Haylee in your prayers as they prayerfully consider where they feel they can best serve with joy to help build the Kingdom. Feel free to encourage Pastor Ben with how you have witnessed God working through him and his family here at Victory of the Lamb! Editor’s note: I am praying that God will lead him to stay and continue to grow His ministry here in Franklin. 🙂

Easter for Kids is a one day event where kids will learn about Jesus’ resurrection in exciting and powerful ways. Kids will experience the gospel message through skits, interactive learning stations, crafts, games and snacks. It’s an experience they won’t soon forget! Join us on Saturday April 8th from 11am-3pm at Victory of the Lamb. This program is open to anyone ages 3-11 and is free of charge. Lunch is also provided. Kids are invited to join us on Palm Sunday, April 9th at 9am when the kids will sing their song in church. Click here for more information, to register, or to sign up to help.

Spring Ahead – The Good News: The sun isn’t going to set until almost 7pm Sunday night! The Bad News: We are going to get one hour less sleep on Saturday night. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour this Saturday before you go to bed.

Koine – Join us this Wednesday night, March 15, at 6:30 pm, for a special night, as Koine leads us in worship. The time of worship is called Footsteps to the Cross. Through God’s Word in song and message, this multimedia presentation will touch your heart and soul.

Easter Preparations – Now is a great time to start thinking about and praying about whom you can invite to Easter worship services this year. Year in and year out, studies show, people will come to worship on Easter if they are invited. Who can you invite to be a part of our church family to hear about the greatest epic of all time, the powerful resurrection of Jesus?!

Volunteers Needed

Usher Team – We are looking for more ushers who would be willing to serve once a month to help provide a friendly face, help people receive a worship folder, collect the offering and find their way around. Please contact Karl to volunteer.

Victory Kids – Our awesome Sunday morning kids’ program continues to grow! Please consider volunteering. A once a month commitment is all that is needed. Training is provided. There are many roles to fill besides being a teacher. Some with little are no prep required. What is required? Most of all a heart hat loves God and a willingness to show that love to others. Contact Liz to volunteer!

Host Team – Have you noticed how quickly the lobby fills with people on Sunday morning?! What a tremendous blessing! This also means that is more important than ever that our guests feel welcome and are able to find their way around. It can be intimidating to attend church for the first time. This is where the Host Team helps be creating great first impressions. Please consider helping out once a month. Contact Christie to volunteer.

Parking Request – We have ample parking on the northwest side of the Ministry Center, but guest aren’t always able to see that right away. If possible, out of love for our guests, members and regular attenders think about parking on this northwest side of the building to leave as many parking spots visible and available in the front of the building as possible.

Soccer Camp 2017 – Mark your calendars for the best week of the summer! The 10th annual Soccer Camp will be June 13-16! This year camp will be from 11am-3pm and include lunch. You will be able to register and sign up to help in the next couple of weeks. We look forward to seeing you at camp this summer!

Just for the Run of it – Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary is hosting the Seminary Scurry. Come explore the beautiful WLS campus in a 5K run/walk and Kid’s Dash. You are invited to stay afterwards for a FREE Cookout Lunch and to take a tour. Weather permitting, they will have a free bounce house and face painting. The Kid’s Dash is appropriate for children grades K – 5. The Seminary Scurry is scheduled for April 29th! For more information and to register go here.
