Victory News – April 12, 2019

Dear Friends,

It is that time of year when change is in the air.  Monday it was 70 degrees, and it was snowing on Wednesday. That’s quite a change.

As we go through life, we go through changing seasons. Some changes are more difficult than others; some are scary, some are welcomed, and some are for our good.

The greatest change agent of all is our Savior Jesus Christ. He changes everything. By grace through faith in Jesus we are changed from sinful to holy, from dead to alive from separated from God to at peace with God. Jesus changes everything. And it will always be that way because Jesus, himself doesn’t change.

I the LORD, do not change (Malachi 3:7). That means his love and victory for you will always remain.

See you this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am in person or online.

Sharing Christ’s Love and Victory,

Pastor Bill

ICYMI – Last Sunday, Pastor Bob Johannes shared a message called, “It’s Not Fair!” Christian life isn’t meant to be easy or fair. By redirecting our focus from fairness to forgiveness, we can learn to thank God that he isn’t fair, because we definitely don’t deserve the grace he has unfairly given to us through Jesus. Click here to view or read last Sunday’s message.

Coming Up This Sunday – This week, Pastor Bill will share a message about worship. We’re always worshiping something. Because of his faithfulness, power, and love, God is the only One we can worship without shame. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.

Easter at Victory and Holy Week – The Resurrection wasn’t just something that happened 2,000 years ago. It changes you today and for eternity. Join us for Easter at Victory. Services are at 9:00 and 10:30am on Sunday, April 21. This weekend, you’ll be able to grab Easter invite cards to use to encourage friends, family, and neighbors to join you for Easter at Victory. We’ll have several worship opportunities during Holy Week. We’ll have our regular Sunday services on Palm Sunday (April 14, 9:00 and 10:30am), a service on Maundy Thursday (April 18) at 6:30pm, and a service on Good Friday (April 19) at 6:30pm.

Installation Service – On Sunday, April 28, we will officially install Pastor Ben Sadler as pastor at Victory of the Lamb during the services. We’ll have an Installation Celebration afterwards. You can click here to sign up to donate items for lunch. (NOTE: You will need to sign into MyVOTL to fill needs.) Also, stop by the Welcome Area during church for the next several weeks to leave a message of encouragement, words of advice, or a note telling Pastor Ben what you love about Victory.

LINKED Update – Through your generosity, Victory is connecting to Christ, our community, and one another. Click here –  LINKED Update 2019-04 to view an update on the LINKED campaign. Jim Guenther, one of the members of our LINKED committee, will share an update at the end of each service on Sunday.

Easter Flowers – LAST CALL – Help us beautify our worship center for Easter! You can sponsor Easter flowers now through tomorrow, April 13. Flowers are $10 each. Options include tulips, lilies, daffodils, and mums. You can bring your flowers home after the 10:30am service on Easter Sunday. Click here to order and pay for your Easter flowers.

Mulch Party! – We need YOUR help to spruce up the landscaping at the Ministry Center before Easter. Come on over to the Ministry Center tomorrow (Saturday, April 13) between 9:00am and 1:00pm to help spread mulch. Bring a shovel, rake, wheelbarrow, and/or gloves.

Tell Us About Your Mom – Be a part of our Mother’s Day Celebration on Sunday, May 12. Sign up to be interviewed about your mom, grandma, aunt, or another mother figure who had an impact on your life. We’ll share parts of your stories during our Mother’s Day services, and the rest will be shared on social media. Click here to sign up to be a part of this story-telling opportunity.
