PASTOR’S MESSAGE

Hi Friends,

One of the greatest challenges for me as a pastor lately is preaching to a camera, wondering if I’m connecting with the people on the other side. I miss meeting with you all and talking with you. Through those conversations, I learn about your successes and your struggles. You tell me about how you are feeling and what causes you pain or anxiety. As I prepare each sermon, I think about those conversations and how God’s Word might meet your needs.

So, would you mind giving me an update? We can’t meet in person, but you can send me an email?

  • What are your greatest challenges? Your health? Your finances? Dynamics in your family?
  • What is leading you to feel thankful?
  • What emotions are you feeling? Grateful? Afraid? Anxious? Bored? Angry?
  • Does God feel far away or near?

I promise to respond to every email, and your perspective will help me serve you and our community with God’s Word.

I invite you to join and participate online for worship this Saturday at 5:00pm or Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am.

Sharing Christ’s victory,

Pastor Ben

Current Series – Who Told You THat?

ICYMI – Last weekend, Pastor Bill kicked off our new series with a message about science and God. You may have heard that science and Christianity are at odds, or that science disproves the existence of God. But just because we learn more about Creation doesn’t mean that it removes our need for the Creator. Click here to read or watch this message.

Coming Up This Weekend – Pastor Ben continues the series by exploring what makes Christianity different from other religions. Most religions give their followers a type of ladder, a system of rules to live by to “climb up to God”. But Christianity presents a story about God working through his people in order that He might come down to us in Jesus.  Join us on Saturday at 5:00pm or Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am. You can join in for all of these services online.

The procession will start at Shoreland in Somers and end at his family’s home in Sturtevant. You are encouraged to arrive early and decorate your car with messages to support the family during this difficult time.

VICTORY OPPORTUNITIES

Mobilize MKE – Victory is proud to partner with a dozen Milwaukee-area churches for Mobilize MKE, a project to live out the love and compassion of Jesus in tangible ways throughout our community. During the next two weeks (April 27-May 9), Victory will be one of four food collection sites. The goal is to collect enough food to make 100,000 meals for people in the Milwaukee area, to be distributed by area food pantries. For more information on this project, go go mobilizemke.com. To sign up to help collect food at one of the collection sites, click here.

Online Bible Studies – Pastor Bill and Pastor Ben are offering online Bible studies to help you grow in your faith during this challenging time. Pastor Bill is leading a study called “Joining Jesus on Mission” on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Pastor Ben will start up a new study to dive deeper into sermon topics on Wednesday mornings. To learn more about these studies and get involved, go to votl.life/online-bible-studies.

Versiti Blood Drive – Victory is partnering with Versiti to serve our community! We’ll host a blood drive on Wednesday, May 20 from 3:00-7:00pm. In order to maintain social distancing and ensure safety, we’ll be adjusting our set-up from other drives and we will not be able to provide child care during the drive.
