Victory News – April 26, 2019

Dear Friends,

The NFL draft began last night. And with the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals selected Kyler Murray, quarterback from Oklahoma. Can you imagine how exciting it is to hear your name called in the draft? Not only are you wanted, you become an instant millionaire and are set for life.

I didn’t get drafted to play in the NFL. Probably not shocking, right?

But I have great news for me and for you. God drafted me, and God drafted you! God wants you. And you are set for eternal life. We aren’t very good. In fact, we aren’t good at all. But God drafted us by grace. We are out-of-this-world famous, rich, and secure!

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9)

May God give you and me great joy in knowing that he wanted us, chose us, and wrote our names in the book of life.

See you on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am, in person or online.

Sharing Christ’s Love and Victory,

Pastor Bill

ICYMI – Last Sunday, Pastor Bill shared a message about about how the Resurrection impacts us now and for eternity. When we forget about the Resurrection, we’re right there with the Disciples – lost, hopeless, wandering. But Jesus is alive. And that changes everything. Click here to view or read last Sunday’s message.

Coming Up This Sunday – This week, Pastor Bill will wrap up the What If… series with a message about what would happen if we actually shared the love of Jesus like it’s the best news ever.  Imagine the impact that the Good News of Jesus would have on your family, your community, and the world. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.

Installation Service – This Sunday, we will officially install Pastor Ben Sadler as pastor at Victory of the Lamb during the services. We’ll have an Installation Celebration afterwards. You’re invited to stay after the 10:30am service for lunch and a short program to welcome Pastor Ben and his family to Victory.

Confirmation Sunday – On May 5 during the 9:00am service, we will welcome nine confirmands into membership at Victory. You’re invited to join with their families in celebrating this important milestone in their faith journeys. We encourage you to pray for these young men and women, that their faith may remain strong and that they may continue to grow closer to God as they continue onto high school and beyond.

Mother’s Day at Victory – Victory will celebrate moms and mother figures at our Mother’s Day services on Sunday, May 12. There will be a
photo booth for you to snap a family picture, a gift for moms, a song by our Victory Kids, and a message about what it means to be children of God. We’ll also share a video featuring members of the Victory community telling us about their moms. See you there!

Engage and Encourage – Moms are amazing! But sometimes, they need a break. Moms of young kids are invited to Engage and Encourage, an event taking place on Saturday, May 4 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Victory. Find rest, inspiration, and joy through engaging with speakers and conversations with other area moms. Click here to learn more and register for this event. Space is limited, so make sure you reserve your spot by this Wednesday. Also, grab a few invite cards on Sunday to use to invite other moms to join you!

Blood Drive – On Wednesday, May 22, Victory will again partner with BloodCenter of Wisconsin (part of Versiti) to offer a blood drive at the Ministry Center. Refreshments and childcare provided during your donation. Appointments encouraged. Click here to make your appointment, or call (877) 232-4376. All donors will receive “I Love Wisconsin” shirts as a thank-you for saving lives. You can also support the blood drive by providing child care for donors, donating snacks, and helping with clean-up. Click here to sign up to help with the drive. (Note: you will need to log into your MyVOTL account to sign up to help.)

VIctory Stories

Easter Sunday Services – Between the two worship services and those present in Victory Kids, almost 700 people heard God’s word and His promise of eternity through Jesus. This happened because of the Holy Spirit working through all of us to reach the people in our community through invitations to your family, friends and neighbors, and print and digital advertising made possible through your generous gifts to Victory. Thank you for spreading the message of Jesus!
