Numbers of hope: This is the time of year when students start to figure out what they needed to score on their semester tests to get their desired grade. That score is a number of hope.
Numbers of hope: If you are a golfer, you hope for a hole in one – the likelihood of an amateur golfer hitting a hole in one is 1 in 12.5K.
Numbers of hope: In Scripture, 0 and 100 are important numbers. 1 Peter 2:22 explains why the number zero gives us hope: He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. Jesus had zero sins. That’s very important, or we would not have a Savior from our infinite number of sins. 100% is a number of hope in Scripture as well. Isaiah 53:6 says: And the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. God laid on Jesus 100% of sins of all the people. In John 19:30, Jesus says, “It is finished.” No tricks, no changing his mind; the work of salvation is finished. Jesus paid for our sins in full. 100% is also the likelihood that Jesus will be with you every step of the way in life. Jesus says, “I will be with you always” (Matthew 28:20). He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us (Ephesians 5:2).
Numbers of hope: We can trace all of this back to the numbers 3 and 16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

ICYMI – Last Sunday, Seminary student Paul Koester shared a message entitled “Steadfast through Persecution”. We don’t need to fear suffering and persecution, because we trust that Jesus’ name makes great gains through our pains. Click here to watch or read last week’s message.
Coming Up – This weekend, Pastor Bill will be examining the question, “Are you for real??!!” We ask this question of God all the time: Do we really need a Savior? Did Jesus really die for all our sins? Are we really qualified to share the Gospel message with the world around us? Join us on Sunday at 8:30 or 10:15 am in person or online to find out how we can be confident that the answer to all these questions is yes.
