I’m in the middle of the stockyards in Forth Worth, TX. It looks a little different now than it used to, but there is a lot of history here. From the original brick walkways to the wooden corrals, every inch of the stockyards tells the true history of Texas’s famous livestock industry.
In the life of the Christian church, the tension is rising as we get closer to the dusty roads of the Via Dolorosa and the wooden cross, where love and justice are going to collide right on top of Jesus, the Savior of the world.
The stockyards were noisy back in the day, but as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he (Jesus) didn’t open his mouth (Isaiah 53:7).
It isn’t fair, but it’s true: it’s the love of God for you, for me, for the world. Get ready, because Jesus changes everything!
I look forward to seeing you in person at 9:00 or 10:30am at Victory or online.
Sharing Christ’s Love and Victory,
CURRENT SERIES – WHAT IF…
ICYMI – Last Sunday, Pastor Bill shared a message about believing without seeing. When we believe without seeing, we allow God to be God. We trust that the creator of the universe will do things we can’t even imagine praying for. Click here to view or read last Sunday’s message.
Coming Up This Sunday – This week, Pastor Bob Johannes will share a message called, “It’s Not Fair!” Christian life isn’t meant to be easy or fair. By redirecting our focus from fairness to forgiveness, we can learn to thank God that he isn’t fair, because we definitely don’t deserve the grace he has unfairly given to us through Jesus. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.
Easter at Victory and Holy Week – The Resurrection wasn’t just something that happened 2,000 years ago. It changes you today and for eternity. Join us for Easter at Victory. Services are at 9:00 and 10:30am on Sunday, April 21. This weekend, you’ll be able to grab Easter invite cards to use to encourage friends, family, and neighbors to join you for Easter at Victory. We’ll have several worship opportunities during Holy Week. We’ll have our regular Sunday services on Palm Sunday (April 14, 9:00 and 10:30am), a service on Maundy Thursday (April 18) at 6:30pm, and a service on Good Friday (April 19) at 6:30pm.
