When Andrew was six months old, he was playing with a ball. But with a flail of the arm, the ball rolled underneath the couch. He immediately started to cry. He thought the ball was lost. He was lamenting.
Lamenting isn’t just for little children. Losing things, dreams, and people are a part of real life. And it hurts. These loses cause us to lament.
This weekend, we are continuing our series Summer Playlist looking at the poems, prayers, and songs of the Psalms. We will be looking at Psalm 13 and see where is God in our times of lament.
CURRENT SERIES: Summer Playlist
ICYMI – Guest Pastor, Forrest Bivens, continued the series with a message about Psalm 8 which opens and closes with praise to the Creator of all things. The Psalmist examines God’s creation, from the Heavens to the Earth and all the beings in between. Pastor Bivens taught us that God is our Creator+. How cool is that? Coming Up This Weekend – Pastor Bill continues the sermon series with a look into Psalm 13. This Psalm opens with a lament to God over difficulties. Like the Psalmist David, we sometimes feel forgotten by God. We wonder how long our suffering can go on. But, like David, when we go to God and study His Word in difficult times, we come to realize that we can trust in His unfailing love and remain sure of our salvation through Jesus. You can join in on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at Victory, on our live stream site, or our YouTube channel.
