PASTOR’S MESSAGE

Dear friends,

Does your conscience ever bother you? Remember grace. Grace is undeserved love. It’s “while we were still sinners Christ died for us”  and “the Lord our righteousness.”

Grace covers all the A-B-Cs of sin. It covers arrests, bullying, cursing, dishonesty, egging someone’s reputation, forgery, greed, hatred, irresponsibility, jealousy, killing, lust, marginalizing people, narcissism, one-night stands, pornography, quarrels, racism, sins of omission, sins of commission, tyranny, an unpardoning spirit, violence, worry, x-rated websites, yearning for thing and people that aren’t yours, making zero time for people unlike yourself… and all the other A-B-Cs of sin.

1 John 1:8,9 says, If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Grace is messy because we are messy. God welcomes your mess. Trust God’s ability to receive your confession more than your ability to make confession. Nancy Spiegelberg said, “Lord I crawled across the barrenness to you with an empty cup  . . . if only I had known you better, I would have come running with a bucket.”

Run to your Savior Jesus. He is the God of grace!

Sharing Christ’s Victory,

Pastor Bill

CURRENT SERIES – UNSHAKEABLE

ICYMI – Last week, Pastor Bill shared with us that sometimes it seems foolish to do what God commands. We don’t always see or understand why God asks us to do what He asks us to do, but faith tells us that when we do it, we will be blessed. Click here to view this message.

Coming Up This Sunday –  Paul and the Philippians enjoyed a wonderful relationship: they were gospel partners (fellowship) in ministry. He was not afraid to ask them for help and they were eager to give him support. Join us to learn about God’s unshakeable promises on Sunday at 8:30 or 10:15am at church or online.

VICTORY NEWS

votl.life – Last week, we launched votl.life, a new site that will help you easily stay connected to Victory of the Lamb.  On votl.life, you are able to sign up for events, find information you need, submit prayer requests, and more! On Sunday, you’ll have the opportunity to try out our online connection cards.  Check it out today… votl.life.

Service Time Change – Starting September 2, we will adjust our service times on Sunday mornings to 9:00am and 10:30am. This switch is being made to accommodate visitors while still serving the needs of our members. Mark your calendars, and please share social media posts with this information so we get the word out about the time change.

VICTORY OPPORTUNITIES

Summer Bible Study – Habakkuk had some tough questions for God and asked God for some answers. He didn’t like God’s answers at first, but he later learned to love them. We will learn to love God’s answers too as we study the Book of Habakkuk. This series, which continues on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm, is led by Prof. Forrest (Frosty) Bivens. No RSVP needed; join us as you are able. Visit our events page for more information about this Bible study.

Adopt-A-Classroom – Victory of the Lamb continues its partnership with Country Dale Elementary as we kick of the school year with Adopt-A-Classroom. We will look for members to sponsor classrooms in $25 increments. These funds will be used by teachers to purchase materials and supplies for classrooms and students. Click here to get involved in this partnership.

VICTORY STORIES

Blood Drive – At this week’s Blood Drive, we had 43 people donate blood and dozens of people volunteer time and energy to support our donors and BloodCenter of Wisconsin.  Thank you for your support and generosity! We look forward to partnering with the BloodCenter of Wisconsin for another drive later this fall. Be sure to check out the pictures on our Facebook page.
