Our time is limited. Twenty-four hours in a day. One hundred and sixty-eight hours in a week. For a life time. None of us knows how long or how short we will live here on earth. If we don’t keep our focus on our eternal God, it can be kind of scary. But through Jesus we can know that whether our earthsly life is short or long, we have an eternal life in the glories of heaven. This weekend we will consider a time in the Church Year call the “End Times.” This Sunday is specifically called “Saints Triumphant.” And so we will turn our focus to heaven and our eternal home. I will preach on 1 Corinthians 15:35-57 and see that “all bad things must come to an end!”
By the way, ICYMI, Pastor Ben’s message from this past weekend was fantastic. Check it out for the first time or again. Be sure to share it with your family and friends too!!
VETERANS DAY PRAYER – (Today, Nov 11 is Veteran’s Day.) Thank you Veterans for your faithful service and your tremendous sacrifice. A Veterans Day Prayer: Jesus help us to treasure our spiritual freedom from sin, death and the devil, and open our hearts and lips to praise you for the liberty we have only in you. Teach us to be thankful for the liberties that we have in the United States of America, which were won for us by the sacrifices of service men and women in the past. Help us to honor their memory by conscientious and loyal citizenship and a readiness to defend those who are in need. Bring comfort to the families who grieve today over a loved who lost his or her life in service to our country. Strengthen and sustain those Veterans who are confined to hospitals, who bear the physical, mental and emotional scars of war. Grant your gift of peace to our country and to our world, so that the good news of your Victory over our spiritual enemies and death may reach people throughout the world. In your protecting and saving name, we pray. Amen.
