Victory News – December 13, 2019

Dear Friends,

In his book Unshakable Hope, Max Lucado writes: “Two people set out to build their homes. The first went to RPF Home Supply (Regrets, Pain, and Fear). He ordered lumber that was rotted by guilt, nails that were rusting from pain, and the cement that was watered down with anxiety. Since his home was constructed with RPF supplies, every day was consumed with regret, pain, and fear. The second builder went to different supplier. She secured her supplies from Hope Incorporated. Rather than choosing regret, pain, and fear, she found ample promises of grace, protection, and security. Her house was built on hope.”

What are you building your “home” on?

This weekend we are going to continue our series called Hope. Hope in Jesus gives us a solid foundation, because hope changes everything!

I hope to see you in person or online this weekend at 9:00 or 10:30am. Feel free to invite someone and share the Hope of Jesus, who changes everything!

Reaching today’s people with Christ’s victory,

Pastor Bill

ICYMI – Last Sunday, Pastor Ben continued the Hope series with a message about how hope changes us. There are many circumstances that attempt to rob us of our hope: what we see, how we feel, the voices of other people. However, God has called us to remain resilient in hope.  Click here to read or watch last Sunday’s message.

Coming Up This Sunday – This weekend, Pastor Bill continues the series. Hope has the power to change everything. Even though in many instances the circumstances do not change, how we view them does when we see them through the hope given to us through Jesus. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online. You can also check out the Spotify playlist for the series here.

Victory Kids Christmas Program – This Sunday, children in our Victory Kids program will share the message of Christmas with us through song and readings at the 10:30am service. If your child is not participating in the program, we will still offer Victory Kids during the 9:00am service. There is a rehearsal on Saturday, December 14 at 10:00am for those children participating in the program.

Christmas at Victory – Hope is coming… and his name is Jesus. You are invited to Christmas at Victory, happening on Christmas Eve at 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00pm. We encourage you to invite your friends and family by sharing the event on Facebook, reposting on Instagram, and retweeting on Twitter. Invite cards are available at church for you to personally invite people as well. Go to christmas.victoryofthelamb.com for more details about the services. We look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus with you!

Operation Jesus Cares 2019 – Victory of the Lamb will partner with Christ/St. Peter School again this year for Operation Jesus Cares on Wednesday, December 18. We’ll work with the school to prepare and deliver care packages to the neighborhood around the school.  You can click here to volunteer at the event.

How to Read the Bible Class – Save the date! Pastor Ben will help you kick off your New Year on the right foot with this one-hour opportunity on Wednesday, January 8 from 6:30-7:30pm. You’ll learn the basic structure of the Bible, discover some tools you can use to read God’s word, and understand how to use the readings to build your relationship with God. No RSVP needed!

Jingle Jam! – Last Friday, we hosted Jingle Jam!, a free family-friendly event for our community to build positive Christmas memories with one another. We were blessed to have over 260 people join us for the event! THANK YOU to all of you who served, donated, and invited friends and family to this great event.
