Victory News – December 28, 2018


Dear Friends,

Are you ready for 2019?

Some things will be the same, and some things will be new.

Like you, I don’t know exactly what will happen in 2019 but I do know who will be with us! And the God who will be with us is faithful. I am excited as we move forward together because God and his grace and mercy will be leading, guiding us.

Along with the Apostle Paul this is my prayer for you and me this coming year:

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:16-21)

UPCOMING SERIES – Living forward

ICYMI – Last week, Pastor Bill wrapped up our “What If…” series.  Sunday’s message was about how Jesus’ birth means there’s more to Christmas.  Click here to read or watch this message. Coming Up This Sunday –  Pastor Bill will share a message called “The Gift Inside the Gift”, explaining what the gift we received from God on Christmas, Jesus, means for us moving forward. This message will be a transition between our “What If…” series and our upcoming series, “Living Forward”.  Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.  


LINKED Campaign – Thank you to all of you who submitted your commitment cards online or in person over the last several weeks. If you haven’t submitted your card yet, there’s still time! You can put it in the offering basket at church at any of our upcoming services, drop it in the mail, or submit an online commitment card at votl.life/linked. We’re super excited to see what God has in store for Victory of the Lamb.

Call Update – In early December, we extended a call to Pastor Dan Oberer. After prayerful consideration, Pastor Dan has returned our call. On January 6, our Leadership Team will extend a call for an associate pastor at Victory of the Lamb. Please keep Victory of the Lamb and our church body in your prayers as we extend a call for a pastor to deliberate.

Christian Leadership Experience – On March 15 and 16, the Antioch Foundation will host the Christian Leadership Experience conference in LaCrosse, WI. The Christian Leadership Experience will inspire leaders to guide their churches and families forward in faith. Click here for more information and to register for this event.


Christmas at Victory – Between the five worship services on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, we had attendance numbers over 1,000. We handed out gifts to over 200 families on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. These included invites to our upcoming series. God be praised! These services are only possible because of the selflessness of dozens of our volunteers.  Thank you for being a Victory volunteer! Stay tuned for several new volunteer opportunities coming up in 2019.
