Economists talk about bad debt and good debt. Bad debt is when you buy things you really don’t need and charge them to your credit card. Bad debts depreciate in value while you are still paying them off. Good debt is when you take out a loan to pay for something that will likely appreciate in value, like a home.
Many of you know that in God’s economy there is bad debt. The bad debt is our sin. We can’t even begin to pay it off. But did you know in God’s economy there is also good debt? A debt that the Holy Spirit moves us fulfill. Here is the good debt that we all have: Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another (Romans 13:8).
Join me for Sunday worship. I look forward to seeing you in person at 9:00 or 10:30am at Victory or online.
Sharing Christ’s Love and Victory,
CURRENT SERIES – LET’S BE REAL
ICYMI – Last Sunday, Pastor Bill kicked off our new series, Let’s Be Real, with a message about the Blame Game that we play with ourselves, others, and God. Click here to view or read last Sunday’s message.
Coming Up This Sunday – Pastor Bill will share a message about the masks we wear. We pretend everything’s okay when it’s really not, and we convince ourselves that we’re alone. But God tells you the truth: you’re worthy, loved, and important. Let God’s word be true for you. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.
Call Update – On February 12, our Leadership Team extended a call to Pastor Ben Sadler to be an associate pastor at Victory. Happy Hands and Heads – Your generosity is a blessing to even more students in the Milwaukee area! This week, we were able to donate 50 hats, mittens, and scarves to St. John’s School in Milwaukee to help keep kids warm through the rest of the winter. This is in addition to the donation of 150 items to Country Dale Elementary earlier this month. Thank you for your generosity!
