PASTOR’S MESSAGE

Dear Friends,

New Year’s Resolutions used to be very popular. But, in recent times, New Year’s resolutions have become less and less a part of our lives. I think I know why: because we are tired of failing.

As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. (Luke 9:51)

This verse said in another way: as the time approached for Jesus to be crucified, he resolutely set out for the cross. We may fail, but Jesus did not. He went to the cross, died to make payment for our sins, and rose again so we could be eternally victorious. Wow. That’s not only a happy new year, that is a happy new life in Christ.

See you this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30 am in person or online as we begin a new series called Living Forward.

Sharing Christ’s Victory,

Pastor Bill

Current SERIES – Living forward

ICYMI – Last week, Pastor Bill shared a message called “The Gift Inside the Gift”, explaining what the gift we received from God on Christmas, Jesus, means for us moving forward. This message was a transition between our What If… series and our current series, Living Forward. Click here to read last Sunday’s message. (Video will be available soon!) Also, if you missed our Christmas Day service (led by Mike Westendorf), you can view the entire service here.

Coming Up This Sunday –  Pastor Bill will kick off our Living Forward series will a message called “God Strong”. In a world where truth is feelings-based, we will remain rooted to the Christian Scriptures and their life-giving direction. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.

VICTORY NEWS

Call Update – In early December, we extended a call to Pastor Dan Oberer. After prayerful consideration, Pastor Dan has returned our call. On January 6, our Leadership Team will extend a call for an associate pastor at Victory of the Lamb. Please keep Victory of the Lamb and our church body in your prayers as we extend a call for a pastor to deliberate.

Small Steps Facebook Group – Use your social media account to help you build your faith. From January 7 through early April, we’ll use our Small Steps Facebook group to post short videos every weekday to help you read through the Bible. Check in if you’re already a member of the group, or request to join by going to the Small Steps Facebook Group. Pastor Bill will share more about this group (and other opportunities to get into God’s word) on Sunday.
