Victory News – July 12, 2019

Dear Friends,

For whatever reason on Monday during my devotion time, I thought about divine appointments. Divine appointments are when God uses you or me to speak into and influence someone else’s life in name of Jesus.

The funny thing about divine appointments is that sometimes we think we are there for the other person, but the other person is the one who is there for us!

When you are talking with your spouse, think “divine appointment.” When you are with your child on the soccer field or even disciplining him, think “divine appointment.” When you see your neighbors (maybe you know their name, maybe not), think “divine appointment.” When you have a meeting at work, think “divine appointment.” And remember: the divine appointment might happen right before or after the meeting. When we keep our hearts open, there are “divine appointments” all over.

The Holy Spirit lives in you. Be ready to influence someone’s life by your words or by the way you treat them.

Speaking of divine appointments, I want to invite you to worship this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am in person or online as we begin a new series called Promises, Promises.

Sharing Christ’s love and victory,

Pastor Bill

CURRENT SERIES – Promises, Promises

ICYMI – Last Sunday, Pastor Ben shared a message about self-control. What we often forget when struggling with self-control is that it’s not all on us to stay away from sin. We can rely on God to help control our desires and be the people God intended us to be. Click here to view or read last Sunday’s message.

Coming Up This Sunday – This weekend, Pastor Bill will kick off our new series with a message about God’s promises about prayer. We can rest in God’s promise that he hears our every prayer, whether spoken or unspoken. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.

More on Self-Control… Stay Tuned! – After many positive reactions and responses to last Sunday’s message, the pastors at Victory have decided to offer a podcast series on self-control and self-discipline. This series will be available in video format on our YouTube channel (youtube.com/victoryofthelamb) and on your favorite podcast app (search Victory of the Lamb on Google, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts). Subscribe now to have new posts delivered to your inbox, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates as we release new episodes in this mini-series.

Victory Media Team – If you have some skills and a passion for photography, videography, graphic design, writing, or social media, you’ll want to check out the new Victory Media Team. This serving team allows you to use your creative gifts to serve God and share the Gospel in print and digital forms. Click here to sign up to attend one of the informational sessions (Sunday, July 14 at 6:30pm or Tuesday, July 16 at 2:30pm).

Innovative Boot Camp – Victory is partnering with Innovative Health and Fitness to offer a free Fat Burn Boot Camp. It will be held on Wednesday, July 17 at 10:00am in the lobby at the Ministry Center. For more information, email Liz from Innovative Health and Fitness.

Foster Support Information Session – Although the need for foster families is great, almost 80% of foster families stop fostering children within two years of starting because of a lack of support and training. Because of this, Victory is working with Kingdom Workers to support and train foster families. You can learn more by attending the Foster Support Info Session on Sunday, July 28 at 11:45am at Victory. Lunch is provided; no RSVP needed. Soccer Camp 2019 – This week, almost 170 campers and 50 volunteers participated in Soccer Camp 2019. All participants had fun, played soccer, and grew closer to Jesus. THANK YOU to everyone who participated. A special shout-out to Cassy for her work to coordinate this successful camp again this year.
