As a little boy, I was afraid of the dark. As I got older, the fears kept coming. I was afraid of failing tests, getting cut from the team, not getting a Call into the ministry, of failing as a husband and father, that our daughter was going to die. Do you see a pattern?
How about you? Do you have any fears?
This weekend we are continuing our series David: The (im)Perfect King. In this week’s portion of David’s story, we’ll see God’s children fear and tremble as they are challenged to a “one-on-one, winner-take-all” battle against the champion Goliath. Then a young teenager named David shows up to take on the giant… and wins.
In our culture today, there are all these “David and Goliath” underdog stories. But what if David was never the underdog? What if you are never the underdog? I can’t wait to share the main point of the story this weekend!
Reaching today’s people with Christ’s victory,
CURRENT SERIES – David: The (im)Perfect King
ICYMI – Last weekend, Pastor Ben kicked off a new series on King David with a message about God’s wisdom and guidance. Like David, you can have confidence that God knows where you are. Know that God is working in your life, using you to fulfill His good and perfect plan. You can click here to read and watch this message.
Coming Up This Weekend – Pastor Bill continues the series with a message about our battles. Jesus already defeated the giant of sin in your life. So, no battle is too big when we size it up based on who God is, not just what we can see. Join us for worship on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at Victory on our live stream site or our YouTube channel.
Versiti Blood Drive – Save a life… donate blood! Victory will partner with Versiti for a Blood Drive on Wednesday, July 28 from 2:30pm-6:30pm. Click here to reserve your spot to donate. Community Concert with the Playlist – On August 14 from 5:30-9:00pm, Victory will host a Community Concert at the Ministry Center.
