Victory News – July 26, 2019

Dear Friends,

“And one!” I don’t know how many times I have said that watching a basketball game. A player drives through the lane and gets fouled and, with energy, I move my arm forward saying, “and one!”

Maybe you have a family of four and when you are sitting down to eat, there are four there “and one.” Maybe you are on vacation right now. As you and your family and friends are hiking, don’t forget the “and one.” Do you realize when you are driving all alone, you are really not alone? It is an “and one” situation.

Sometimes we may feel all alone because we’ve never realized God was and is always with us. The “and one” is a special promise that God has for each and every one of us. Jesus said, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).

Join us for worship this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am in person or online.

Sharing Christ’s love and victory,

Pastor Bill

CURRENT SERIES – Promises, Promises

ICYMI – Last Sunday, Pastor Ben shared another promise of God. Through Jesus, God promises to never condemn us or forsake us. Resting in this promise helps take away our guilt and fix our eyes on the miracle and gift of God’s grace. Click here to view or read last Sunday’s message.

Coming Up This Sunday – This weekend, Pastor Bill will guide us through another promise of God: that he’ll always be there when you share the Gospel with those around you. You can be confident as you do His good works that he listens to you, cares for you, and is always there for you. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.

Small Group Leader Training –  To continue to offer small groups at Victory, we’re providing an opportunity for new people to become leaders. If you are passionate about encouraging others in their faith and building a community of believers, prayerfully consider leading a group. Small Group Leader Training is a 2-session commitment, and sessions will take place on August 7 and 14 from 6:00-7:30pm. Click here to register by Tuesday, August 6. This training is open to new and current small group leaders.

Men’s Mentoring Group – Men: have you ever struggled to have it all? It can get overwhelming to try to build a relationship with your family, have a successful career, find your place at church, and strengthen your faith in Jesus… all at the same time. That’s why Pastor Ben is starting a Men’s Mentoring Group. The informational session for this group is on Sunday, August 18. No obligation to participate, but RSVP is required. Click here to learn more and RSVP.

Grill Kings Starting TOMORROW, July 27 – Grill Kings is a new group to Victory, which will meet on the last Saturday of every month from 4:30-7:30pm at the Ministry Center. Men of all ages can come for dinner, a Bible study, and time to talk about what matters to them. For more information, please contact Dave Long.

Foster Support Information Session – Although the need for foster families is great, almost 80% of foster families stop fostering children within two years of starting because of a lack of support and training. Because of this, Victory is working with Kingdom Workers to support and train foster families. You can learn more by attending the Foster Support Info Session on this Sunday, July 28 at 11:45am at Victory. Lunch is provided; no RSVP needed. To learn more about this opportunity and Kingdom Workers, click here.

Blood Drive – This coming Wednesday, July 31, Victory will again partner with Versiti (formerly Blood Center of Wisconsin) to offer a blood drive at the Ministry Center. Refreshments and childcare provided during your donation. Appointments encouraged. Click here to make your appointment, or call (877) 232-4376. All attempting donors will receive a State Fair ticket. Also, we are still in need of people to provide childcare for donors. Click here to sign up to help with the drive. (Note: you will need to log into your MyVOTL account to sign up to help.)
