How are you coping with all the changes? Each day, a story breaks connected to COVID-19 about new regulations or requirements for business and schools. And with every change, we can feel a spike in our worries and anxieties. So how are you coping?
Personally, I find myself coping by chasing the rabbit hole of opinions on social media, looking for someone to support my perspective. Other times I cope with distracting entertainment or a bag of chocolate. Short-term coping mechanisms might relieve stress in the moment, but they always cause problems in the long term.
That’s why I’m looking forward to this weekend’s message. We are finishing up our study through Paul’s letter to the Philippians. In this last section, Paul claims to have found the secret to being content in any situation. I don’t know about you, but Paul’s got my attention.
So what’s the secret to contentment? Paul says that the secret is to find our strength in Christ alone (Philippians 4:13). But how do we do that? It starts by setting aside time to attend worship whether online or in person. Through the worship service, we find the strength to let go of our coping mechanisms, so that we might find strength and peace in Christ.
I invite you to join and participate in worship, in person or online this Saturday at 5:00pm or Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am.
Sharing Christ’s victory,
