Let me acknowledge the elephant in the room. Our country, even our world, is experiencing an unprecedented situation. I am a pastor, so I will let the healthcare professionals and our world leaders speak to facts of the Coronavirus. Instead, I want to address your spiritual concerns at this time.
First of all, as fast as the Coronavirus is spreading, anxiety, fear, and panic are spreading even faster. Some of you might be concerned that you could get infected. Others might be concerned about the financial ramifications of this pandemic. Finally, some might be worried about all the logistical problems as many things are closing down and events are being postponed.
So where can we turn in times of anxiety? The Apostle Paul writes:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
What do we do with our anxiety? Bring it to God in prayer. Lay all your concerns before God. This is more than just a therapeutic exercise. God is real and he is still in charge. He proved that by being raised from the dead.
Our problems might be big. We don’t need to minimize the current situation. But our God is much bigger. The more we can focus on the bigness of God and his power, the more we will experience peace, even in turbulent times.
I hope to see you in person or online this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am.
Sharing Christ’s victory,

Saturday Worship Starts March 21 – As of right now, Victory will begin offering 5:00pm Saturday worship services starting on March 21. Adding a Saturday worship service is both a way for us make space for you and to reach more people with Christ’s victory by making space for those people you invite to Victory. Thank you for your generosity and support as we continue to grow.
Child Protection Policy – Children are our sacred trust from a loving God. Victory seeks to ensure the safety of all children participating in the programs and activities of the church by establishing policies and procedures regarding the conduct of adults and children. These policies and procedures are contained in our Child Protection Policy. Throughout the next several months, we will be training our volunteers who work with children on these procedures. This is not in response to any incident that has occurred; rather, this is a proactive measure to keep our children and volunteers safe and educated. Please contact Pastor Ben with any questions on this policy.
