These are historic times, huh? How are you all doing out there?
It seems so strange that we can only communicate through digital means. I long for the day we can gather around the Victory Cafe for some egg bake and conversation. I can’t wait for when we can sing and worship Jesus together again. I’m looking forward to sitting together and receiving God’s Word and his Supper together.
That’s not possible at the moment. But it doesn’t mean that all is lost. In fact, I believe this pandemic is challenging us all to make some necessary changes in our lives.
For example, I’ve heard that many of you are eating dinner as a family. For the first time, you are playing games together. You’ve started taking walks with your neighbor.
This pandemic has also stretched many of you spiritually. I’ve heard stories of people praying together as a family for the first time. Some of you have told me that you’ve been reading God’s Word for the first time. I’ve heard that you have fallen to your knees on behalf of our world, praying for the revival of the church.
– we all let this crisis press us into new beginnings?
– through this crisis we welcomed Jesus into our homes?
– every home became a church?
– we all took ownership of our faith?
Pastor Bill, the whole Victory team, and I are here to support you and encourage you on your walk with Jesus. But now is a unique opportunity for you to make your faith your own. Now is the time to lead those in your home to follow our Lord and Savior.
Take a bold step and pray out loud with your spouse, children, or friend. Open your Bible, read a Psalm, and cry out to your God for a renewed faith in him. Don’t let this unique moment in history go to waste. Let God use it all to draw you in to his presence.
I hope to see you online this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am.
Sharing Christ’s victory,
