The President said what? The pastor said what? Our military did what? The teacher did what? To me, scandals aren’t just things that happen; they are things we don’t expect to happen. Scandals deal with things we didn’t see coming.
At this time in the Christian church year, we focus on the scandals surrounding the death of Jesus. This includes everything from the church leaders finding the innocent Jesus guilty to the atheist finding Jesus innocent but condemning him to death.
But do we realize the scandal in our own lives? For those of who are Christ followers, do we see the scandal in our own lives when we aren’t following Jesus and his teachings? Do we see the greatest scandal of all – God’s reaction to our scandalous lives – Jesus on the cross? Do we see the scandal of God’s grace and mercy?
Jesus is the atoning sacrifice, not only for our sins but also for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2).
Join me for Sunday worship. I look forward to seeing you in person at 9:00 or 10:30am at Victory or online.
Sharing Christ’s Love and Victory,
CURRENT SERIES – LET’S BE REAL
ICYMI – Last Sunday, Pastor Bill shared a message about what we really need. We often compare ourselves with others. What we really need is God’s love and forgiveness, which we have through Jesus. Click here to view or read last Sunday’s message.
Coming Up This Sunday – This week, Pastor Bill will share a message about the value of prayer. When we make prayer a priority, focusing on God’s will and building a relationship with Him, it’s a lot easier to see the results of our prayers. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.
Call Update – On Sunday, we were pleased to announce that Pastor Ben Sadler has accepted the call to come to Victory of the Lamb. Praise be to God! We look forward to officially welcome the Sadler family to Victory at his installation service on Sunday, April 28. Stay tuned for more details on this service.
Spring Ahead – Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday at 2am. Make sure to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night. Or, just let your cell phone make the change and be surprised!
LINKED Update – Through your generous gifts towards the LINKED campaign, Victory was able to partner with the Franklin Community Education & Recreation Department to support Franklin families in need. Victory donated $2,000 to this organization, which they will use as a scholarship fund to help parents offset the costs of their children attending Kid’s Club, the Franklin School District’s before- and after-school care program. We look forward to future opportunities to support Franklin and our wider community through the LINKED campaign.
