Pastor’s MESSAGE
Hi Friends,
I would like to give you some homework before Sunday’s worship service: Watch the movie Inside Out. If you have seen it already, consider watching it again. What I love about this movie is that it teaches that all our emotions have a purpose.
From a Christian perspective, we would say that all our emotions are gifts from God. Our emotions help us respond to and process our experiences. If we are emotionally healthy, each emotion helps us live richer, more fulfilling, and fruitful lives. If we are emotionally unhealthy, those emotions can cause unnecessary havoc and lead to painful consequences.
The most egregious offender is the emotion “anger”. Anger has a way of multiplying our problems. When we are angry, we might be tempted to yell, intimidate, manipulate, or even physically harm those we care about. (It’s no surprise that the character Anger in Inside Out is a red, volatile character.)
That’s why, this Sunday, we are going to talk about anger. In this sermon, we will look at the story of Moses and how his anger kept him from entering the Promised Land. We will also see how our anger, when used properly can be a blessing to God’s people as we follow the prompting of God’s Holy Spirit.
You’re invited to join us for worship this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am. You can worship at Victory, on our live stream site, or on our YouTube channel.
Reaching today’s people with Christ’s victory,
Pastor Ben
CURRENT SERIES: EMOTIONS
ICYMI – Pastor Bill shared a special Mother’s Day message about anxiety. When your to-do list seems never-ending and the weight of the world weighs on you… remember who God says you are, what He says He will do, God has defeated Satan and that God will give you His strength. Coming Up This Weekend – Pastor Ben continues the series with a message about the consequences of anger. Anger leads us to lose blessings. When we lose our tempers, we often lose a whole lot more.
