MESSAGE OF ENCOURAGEMENT
There are a lot of fun things I’ve gotten to do as a part of my job at Victory. I get to write posts like this, make ridiculous videos with my co-workers, connect with people on social media, and more. While I’m excited to return to teaching, I’m going to miss a lot about being a Comm Director. But one part I won’t miss is programming our outdoor sign.
Every time I have to program this sign, I complain about it. (Just ask Pastor Bill or Kari!) The software that controls our outdoor sign is ancient and a beast to use. It can take a dozen attempts, with me running from the computer to the window, to get a simple message or image to look okay on the sign. But I keep doing the work… not just because it’s part of my job description, but because of how God uses this sign to reach people with the Gospel. Since we installed this sign, dozens of people have walked through the doors of our Ministry Center and heard the Good News of Jesus because of something they saw on this sign.
Sharing Jesus isn’t a burden; it’s an opportunity. Paul explains it like this: Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ (Ephesians 3:8). When we view every one of the tasks we do – even the things that we view as frustrating or menial – as opportunities to make an eternal difference in the lives of people around us, it changes our attitudes on our work and interactions with others.
You’re invited to join us for worship this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am as Pastor Matt goes into details about the opportunity we have to share the Gospel in our daily lives. You can worship at Victory, on our live stream site, or on our YouTube channel.
Reaching today’s people with Christ’s victory,
