You don’t have to come to church. What I mean is…society has changed; nobody pressures you to worship in a Christian church.
That’s not how it has always been in the US. It used to be that if you wanted to get anywhere in business or politics, then you needed to go to church. The church was where people met friends and built their community. But not anymore. In fact, if you come to church, you might feel like you are at a disadvantage, like you are missing out. That’s why many people are opting out of church. They don’t really see the point.
Maybe that’s where you are at. Maybe you are wondering what benefit there could possibly be in showing up this Sunday.
That’s why I want to CHANGE your view of church. Church must be more than just a building, much more than just a sermon and some songs. That’s why I want you to come this week. This will be my first sermon as one of your pastors. And I pray that the Holy Spirit will totally transform your view of church.
This weekend, you will learn that the church is God’s people. And God shows up and reveals himself when we get together.
You are God’s church. Let’s gather together this Sunday so that God might show us how to be his church in the community. See you on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am, in person or online.
