Recently, I met with my doctor, and I asked her, “What should I be doing to stay healthy during the pandemic?” She said, “The most important thing you can do is strengthen your immune system. You can do that by taking more Vitamin C and D.” She went on to explain that we can’t always stop all the attacks that are coming from the outside. But we can make ourselves as strong as possible on the inside.
As one of your pastors, I would like to give you similar encouragement when it comes to your faith. You are not going to be able to stop all of the spiritual attacks that are coming from the outside. But you can do more to get spiritually strong on the inside. You can participate in worship, whether online or in-person. And when you worship, don’t just be a spectator. Dig into the Scriptures as you listen to the sermon. Join your voice as we sing to our God. And unite your heart and mind with the prayers that are offered.
But just like taking one Vitamin C tablet won’t last all week, neither will one worship service give you the spiritual strength to remain hopeful. That’s why I encourage you to make use of all Bible study tools that we are offering, like the daily Bible reading and the Light in the Darkness devotion.
It doesn’t seem like our time of testing is going to be over any time soon. So now is the time to get as spiritually-resilient as possible. Pastor Bill and I are here to help you stand strong during this difficult time.
I look forward to worshiping with you this weekend in person or online this Saturday at 5:00pm or Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am.
Sharing Christ’s victory,
