Have you ever played the kids game “follow the leader?” In this game, one person is the leader and the rest line up by behind him/her and do whatever the leader does or they get disqualified from the game.
For Christians, Jesus is not only a Savior but also our Lord, our Leader. Jesus didn’t just teach; he led by example: Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us (Ephesians 5:1-2a).
Jesus gives us these imperatives for our life: Love God, first and foremost in your life. Love your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you. Without the grace of God in our life, we wouldn’t even begin to be able to do these things. Oh how we need God and his grace.
This weekend, as we pursue God, one of the things we are going to find out is that the more we pursue Jesus, the more we see he has been pursuing us all along.
Can’t wait for Sunday! Join us for worship this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am in person or online.
