Victory News – November 23, 2018

Dear Friends,

Wow. Black Friday deals. I saw large screen TV’s for outrageously low prices. Video games, toys, and jewelry prices slashed. One discount after another. Black Friday is a shopper’s delight.

Wow. Good Friday deals. I would have never been able to afford it, not even close. But because of a Good Friday long ago where our Savior was slashed and crucified, our sins were paid for in full. This is not a discount where we still have to pay part of the price. Salvation is a done deal because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It cost him dearly, but it is free for you and me. Good Friday equals a sinner’s paradise.

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. (1 Peter 1:18,19)

Remember this Christmas Season, Jesus purchased you!

Coming Up This Sunday –  This weekend, Pastor Bill will explain that we don’t give to God because we feel guilty or because of a mandate; we give to God out of thankfulness and appreciation for all He has done for us. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.

Victory Stories

Thanksgiving Eve Worship – Almost 300 people attended the Thanksgiving Eve service at Victory of the Lamb on Wednesday.  God is good! Thanks to those who filled out connection cards with information about their skills and professions, we will donate $520 to Hunger Task Force.  Additionally, we handed out almost $3,000 in a reverse offering during the service with instructions to “spill it” to others during the next two weeks. Make sure to share how you “spilled it” with us; post your story on social media with #becauseofJesus, or email your story to us.
