Victory News – October 12, 2018

Dear Friends,

Wow! What a change. We had a record high of 84 degrees earlier this week and this morning we woke up to frost. Talk about a swing.

Sometimes that is exactly like our spiritual life. One day we are really tuned in to God in our life, and the next day we really don’t have Him on our minds, let alone in our actions.

The good news is Jesus is our constant. He doesn’t change. Hebrews 13:8 says, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. His love doesn’t change. It isn’t based on our actions. Love is just who Jesus is.

I hope to see you this Sunday at 9:00 am or 10:30 am in person or online. Invite someone to hear about Jesus’ love. And if no one has invited you, consider this your invite!

God bless!

Pastor Bill

ICYMI – Last weekend, Pastor Bill shared a message about why singleness is close to Godliness. Click here to view this message.

Coming Up This Sunday – Pastor Bill continues our Family Matters series with a message about non-traditional families.  Guess what? The Bible is full of families that don’t follow the “mom/dad/kids” format. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online.

October Bible Study – Victory of the Lamb will offer a Bible Study series called, “Why Am I Here” in October. Sessions will meet in the Elementary classroom at the Ministry Center from 6:30-7:30pm every Wednesday in October.  The course will focus on the search of King Solomon when God guided him to ask important questions and provide necessary answers to everyone wrestling with the same basic issues today.  Professor Forrest “Frosty” Bivens will lead this interactive study. No RSVP needed.

Victory Cafe – At every service, Victory Cafe offers hospitality to our guests through serving food and drink.  One way you can get involved at Victory of the Lamb is through serving on this team.  We need many food donations each week and volunteers to prepare and serve items at the Cafe on Sundays. If you’re interested in getting involved in the Cafe through donating items or volunteering, click here to learn more and sign up.

Altar Flowers – Sign-up for Altar Flower sponsorship is now available for October through December. Click here to view available dates and reserve your altar flower sponsorship. The form will look different than if you’ve sponsored in the past; we’ve simplified the form to now include date reservations, payment, and recognition information all in one form. Thank you for beautifying our worship experience every Sunday!

Operation Jesus Cares – Victory of the Lamb will partner with Christ/St. Peter School again this year for Operation Jesus Cares. This year, the event will take place on Wednesday, December 19 from 8:00am-12:00pm at Christ/St. Peter (west campus). Sign-ups for helping on the day of the event will be available in November. You can donate to the project today by using your OJC envelopes for offering at church, setting up a recurring donation to OJC through Faithstreet, or clicking here to make a donation with your credit card.
