Victory News – October 16, 2020

Hi Friends,

What are some of your qualifications?

When a person is applying for a job, they need to be able to meet a list of qualifications. Some of those can be learned. But some of those qualifications need to be present on day one. And this doesn’t just apply to jobs. When I started running marathons, I didn’t start with the Boston Marathon. In fact, I had to qualify for the Boston Marathon to be allowed to run in the race.

Are you qualified to be an evangelist? I know some of you are saying “no.” And I know some of you are saying “yes,” but you are actually hoping the answer is “no” so you don’t have to go. We’ll talk more about that this weekend.

But I don’t want to hold you in suspense. If you have ever sinned and been forgiven by Jesus, and you have, you have all the qualifications you need. You’re the perfect person to reach today’s people with Christ’s victory!

I look forward to worshiping with you this weekend in person or online this Saturday at 5:00pm or Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am.

Sharing Christ’s victory,

Pastor Bill

Sharing Jesus with Your Digital Community – Jesus calls us to go and make disciples. But many of us don’t feel equipped to share Jesus, even though we’re living at a time where it’s easier than ever before. Victory will be providing you with a four-session course on how you can use your own story and digital tools to share Jesus with your community. This will be available on our YouTube channel and Facebook page, starting with an introductory video at 6:30pm on Tuesday, October 20. Learn more about this opportunity in worship this weekend.

Awake and Alive – Awake and Alive exists to inspire hope in young adults through encouraging, Christian community. They are hosting free online gatherings for young adults find community and inspiration. The next opportunity is coming up on October 25 at 6:30pm. In this Zoom gathering, guest speaker Amber Albee Swenson will be leading young adults to change the narrative in their own heads and focus on Christ.
