Victory News – October 25, 2019

Dear Friends,

Here are some mission statements you might recognize: “To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.” (Starbucks)  “To organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.” (Google) “To seek and save the lost.” (Jesus)

What is your mission in life?  What if your mission is way too small?

This weekend, we are going to look at the big mission that Jesus has for those who follow him. I pray you can join us to hear this mission, jump on board, and make a difference beyond your front door.

Bring a family member or friend so that can see if they want to be a part of this “to the ends of the earth” mission.

Join us for worship this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am in person or online.

Reaching today’s people with Christ’s Victory,

Pastor Bill

ICYMI – Last Sunday, Pastor Ben wrapped up the Start with Jesus series with a message about forgiveness. Jesus had every right to be angry; his enemies condemned him to death despite complete innocence. Yet, some of his last words were asking his Father to forgive us. What would our lives look like if we chose forgiveness over retaliation? Click here to read or watch last Sunday’s message.

Coming Up This Sunday – This weekend, Pastor Bill kicks off our new series with a message about our mission at Victory. We share Jesus in church every week, but most importantly, in our communities and day-to-day interactions with those around us. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at church or online. You can also check out the Spotify playlist for the series here.

Classic Car Show and Fall Festival – Victory will host this free family-friendly event for the community TOMORROW, October 26 from 10:00am-1:00pm. It’s our mission to reach into our community, and events like this are one way we do that. Join us for this fun fall event, and bring a friend!

Thanksgiving Eve Worship – Victory will have a Thanksgiving Eve worship service on Wednesday, November 27 at 6:30pm with a pie social afterwards. Mark your calendars for this worship opportunity. You never know what might happen on Thanksgiving Eve!

Trunk-or-Treat – On Tuesday, October 29 from 6:00-8:00pm, the Franklin Public Library will host a free Trunk-Or-Treat event, sponsored by the Franklin Health Department and Volition Franklin. There are currently over 600 kids signed up for this event! If you signed up to donate candy (or you didn’t sign up but would like to), please bring your full-sized candy bars to church on Sunday. There is a collection table in the Welcome Area for these items.

Operation Jesus Cares 2019 – Victory of the Lamb will partner with Christ/St. Peter School again this year for Operation Jesus Cares on Wednesday, December 18. As part of this project, we work with the school to prepare and deliver care packages to the neighborhood around the school. More information coming soon about how you can volunteer for the event. You can donate to the event now by clicking here and designating “Operation Jesus Cares” for your donation.
