Victory News – September 10, 2021

Hi Friends,

Some things have changed. How many of you remember…

  • Being tethered to the wall while talking on a corded phone?
  • Having to get up to turn the dial on the TV to change the channel?
  • Kids staying out until after dark playing outside, and no one worrying about it?

Many things have changed. You may argue that these changes are for the better, or they might be for the worse.

But one thing never changes. Jesus died to save each and every one of us: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Although this message will always stay the same, the way we share it will change so we can reach as many people as possible with the Gospel of Jesus. This weekend, we’re starting a new sermon series called Forward No Matter What, and we’ll be exploring what you can do as a part of Victory’s ministry to reach today’s people with Christ’s victory.

Hope to see you for worship this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am, in person or online.  Feel free to invite a family member or friend to join you. You can worship at Victory, on our live stream site, or on our YouTube channel.

Reaching today’s people with Christ’s victory,

Pastor Bill

ICYMI – Last weekend, Pastor Ben wrapped up the David series with a message about our legacy. David teaches us the value and importance of passing on blessings from God so the children who come after you can succeed better than you. You can click here to read and watch this message.

Coming Up This Weekend – Pastor Bill kicks off the new series with a message about Victory’s God-sized vision. By first grasping the problem, viewing the solution, and planning to seize the opportunity, all of us in the Victory community will be blessed to do the work that leads to a God-sized vision. Join us for worship on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at Victory on our live stream site or our YouTube channel.

A Case for Christianity Course – C. S. Lewis’ book Mere Christianity has become one of the most influential Christian books of the last century. As a former atheist, he engages our doubts with empathy and patience. For the next Victory University course, Pastor Ben will lead a four-week book study on Mere Christianity, starting next week on September 15. You can click here to learn more about the course and register.

Life Navigators Toiletry Drive – Life Navigators works to keep kids and adults with disabilities in our community safe, happy, and healthy all year long. Victory is partnering with Life Navigators by hosting a Toiletry Drive, starting this weekend through September 26. Visit votl.life/toiletry-drive to learn how you can get involved and view the needs list.

2021 Annual Report – God has richly blessed Victory of the Lamb through the generosity of the Victory Community. To reflect on the blessings our ministry has experienced, staff and leaders at Victory have put together a website and report for you to view. Click here to access the report.

Free Barre Workshop – On Tuesday, September 21 at 7:00pm, Victory is hosting a free Barre workshop led by Jessi Larson from Barre District Oak Creek.  This will be a 60 minute workout to help you learn the basics of barre, and participants should wear comfortable clothing. SAVE THE DATE for Bedtime Stories – We’ll be hosting the next Bedtime Stories event for our community on Friday, October 8 at 6:30pm. There will be fall-themed crafts, games, and a read-aloud to enjoy at this event. Stay tuned for how you can donate for, serve at, and attend this event.
