Victory News – September 24, 2021

Hi Friends,

Things don’t always turn out as we expect them. For example, the craft on Pinterest looks great but what you made doesn’t look anything like it. Your team loses even though they were a heavy favorite. You go to check your email but there is no internet connection. You learn that your favorite pizza place no longer does delivery.

Sometimes our expectations are not met because we have unrealistic expectations. I still think I can put together an IKEA shelf in 10 minutes or less and it will be easy. For me that is unrealistic, but I still think I can make it happen and get frustrated when it doesn’t happen.

This weekend, we are going to look at some realistic expectations of what it is like when you and I are working on the God-sized vision to share Jesus with the world!

Hope to see you for worship this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am, in person or online.  Feel free to invite a family member or friend to join you. You can worship at Victory, on our live stream site, or on our YouTube channel.

Reaching today’s people with Christ’s victory,

Pastor Bill

ICYMI – Last weekend, Pastor Ben continued our vision series with a message about taking the next step in our ministry. After we have a clear vision and plan, we need to get to work. Each of us can play a role in the mission at Victory through serving and participating in groups, which helps us grow closer to God and one another. You can click here to read and watch this message.

Coming Up This Weekend – Pastor Bill helps us plan for opposition. From technology difficulties to the busyness of life to the post-Christian culture we live in, we know we’ll face opposition that will make it a challenge to work at our mission. But the work can’t stop when it gets difficult. Join us for worship on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30am at Victory on our live stream site or our YouTube channel.

Bedtime Stories – On Friday, October 8, Victory will host Bedtime Stories at 6:30pm. We’ll have fall-themed crafts and games for children to participate in or take home, as well as a read-aloud and snacks. You can click here for details about this event and learn how you can get involved.

Blood Drive – Save a life… donate blood! Victory will host our final Versiti Blood Drive for the year on Wednesday, October 13 from 2:30-6:30pm. You can sign up to donate by clicking here.

Franklin Trunk-or-Treat – Save the date for the City of Franklin Trunk-or-Treat! This will take place on Thursday, October 21 from 5-8pm at the Franklin Public Library. Victory will host a trunk at this year’s event. We’ll need candy donations and volunteers for this event, so stay tuned for information about how you can get involved.
