Victory News – Shrewd Generosity

Victory News – Shrewd Generosity

Dear Friends,

The artwork was first commissioned by Louis XII of France and later owned by Charles I of England. But the “Salvador Mundi” had disappeared and was presumed lost in the late 18th Century. The DaVinci masterpiece reappeared in an auction in 1958. The painting was deemed a copy and sold for just under $60. The “Salvador Mundi” was acquired by a group of art dealers for around $10,000 in 2005. Turning $60 into $10,000 is pretty shrewd, wouldn’t you agree?

But get this. After the painting was restored, it was authenticated! The painting of Jesus holding the world in one hand and with the other hand lifted up in blessing sold in 2013 for . . . $127.5 million. Wow! Perhaps you know, the painting went up for auction again this week and was purchased by an anonymous buyer for $450.3 million.

How shrewd are you? This weekend Pastor Ben is going to continue our series on “Generosity.” He has a great message for us to see that God wants us to use our brain (be shrewd) so we can be generous in the service of sharing the gospel whose blessings lasts for an eternity which is far longer than even $450.3 million lasts. I hope to see you this Sunday morning at 8:30 or 10:15 at our Ministry Center, 11120 W. Loomis Rd.

ICYMI – watch my message from last Sunday where I began our Generosity series and we saw why we don’t need to worry!

Connection Cards – We now have over 425 baptized members. God be praised! Because we care about each and every person in our church family it’s important to us that we stay in tune with your church attendance. So if you miss a couple weeks in a row we want to be able to check in to make sure everything’s ok and see if there’s anything we can be praying about for you. In order to help us do this it’s important for you to fill out a connection card each Sunday when you attend a worship service. Please help us pastors out and write the names of everyone who attends so we can use our time wisely to be able to reach out to those in our church family who could use our encouragement and prayers. Thank you!
